Episode 77 Nano Monsters iPod case review

nanomonsterEpisode 77 we review the NanoMonster iPod case in this video episode. This case fits into the novelty/kids area of the market. They are cool little character style cases that feature a clip that allows you to connect them to backpacks, belts or keychains. Currently available for the iPod nano there are eight different characters available. They hold the Nano well and offer pretty good protection. The iPod slides in from the top and has opening on the bottom for headphones. I like the set yourself apart style of these cases and my kids absolutely love them. I think that the love children had for these speaks for itself. They even played with them without an iPod.  I believe there will be an iPod video version of these cases coming soon also.

Episode 76 RhinoSkin nano leather case review

Episode 76 we review the Nano leather flipcase from RhinoSkin in this video episode. There are four colors available for this case. (Black, Tan, White & Pink) I think the case design is just average and has been done by many vendors. Rhinoskin does use a nice quality of leather to build these cases, which produces a case that looks and feels good. The front cover opens by flipping it open and locks into place with a magnetic closure. There is a card slot inside the case to allow your to carry cards or other thin items. Item is available in one size, that accomodates all of the Nano players.

Episode 74 Scottevest Peformance T-Shirt review

Episode 74 we review the Performance T-Shirt from ScotteVest (SeV) in this video episode. This is my first time reviewing a piece of Technology enabled clothing (TEC) as promoted by Scottevest. I was very surprised when the shirt arrived, it was well made, descrete and very comfortable to wear. I am reviewing the 1 pocket version in Black material, there is also a 3 pocket version of this shirt available in several colors. The pocket was located up by my left shoulder and offers a zipper to secure in any items. The pocket has ample room for ipods, mp3 players and smartphones. I even use it to stash some cash when I'm out and dont want to carry a wallet.  What is called a personal area network amounts to a design that allows you to feed the headphone cable through an opening on the inside of the shirt pocket and allows you to bring the cable up and out the neck opening. This allows for easy access and you do not have the wires all over the place. It is really a clean look when used.

It offers several compartments with seperate holders to keep cables, charger, earbuds and your iPod safe and organized. The inside of the case is made from very soft padded material and feels almost like your favorite pair of pajamas. The compartments keep the items seperate and tangle free. This case worked great for keeping all of my accessories and cables in once place while traveling and even when storing at home.

Episode 66 RhinoSkin iPod nano hard armor case review

Episode 66 we review the iPod Nano Case from Rhino Skin in this video segment. Rhino skin’s hard case for the iPod Nano is a good looking mixture of metal and plastic. The front of the case is made from clear hard plastic. The screen is protected by the plastic front; there is an opening for the click wheel. This makes the click wheel easy to access and use, but also leaves it exposed to the elements. The back of the case is made from a very tough aluminum. It’s one of the tougher metal cases that I have used. A plastic removable belt clip is included with the case. The clip attaches to the case with a screw in post that is removable for a flat surface. For those of you lanyard users the case also includes a nice looking lanyard that connects to the back of the case just above the belt clip. Something that I like about this case was the way the iPod fits into the case; it is designed as a sleeve style case. This means the case does not open up and the iPod slides into the case from the top. With this design you get a very nice fit and no worries about the case flopping open if you are a careless user. Two small rubber pads on the sides of the case provide a non-slip gripping surface.

Episode 62 - Lumi iPod safety flasher light review

Episode 62 we review the Safety flasher for iPods from Lumi Ventures. The Lumi flasher is a  flashlight and safety flasher built  for use with most iPod models. The flasher connects to the docking connector of the iPod. The light uses battery power from the iPod and does not require seperate batteries. This light offers 6 flashing modes and a flashlight mode. The LED lights are bright and I was suprised by the amount of light that was put out. There are both red and clear LED's in the device and when blinking you  will be seen out on the road. I used my in combination with an iPod armband for safety while biking and running.  The Lumi is available in two colors (white or black).

Episode 61 - Marware Card wallet iPod nano case review

Episode 61 we review the Card Wallet iPod Nano case.  This case is an elegant looking leather piece that is designed for use in a jacket pocket. I would not suggest using in your back pockets because of the thiness of the iPod nano and past damage history. The case holds a Nano and a few business or credit cards in the one slot. The screen of your Nano is protected by the built in screen protector. The nano slides into the case from the opening at the top of the case.  I thought the leather looked and felt great and had that great new leather smell. The construction of the case was good and stiching looked nice.  The card wallet case is available in four leather colors. (Red, Black, Pink and Tan)

Episode 60 - Speck Products Skin Tight deluxe iPod nano case review

Episode 60 we review the Speck Skin tight deluxe iPod Nano case.  The Skin tight deluxe case line is a ruggedized polymer material case. The polmer looks and acts like a tough version of most silicone style cases. The case offers protection for the iPod screen with a clear hard plastic cover that can easily be removed. The screen protector has a soft cushion on the bottom that keeps the protector from rubbing directly on the iPod's screen. There is a holster style belt clip included with these cases. The clips are color matched to the case and offer 360 degrees of rotation. The clip will lock into many different positions to allow users to wear their iPod horizontal or verticaly.

Episode 54 - The Podstar Diable iPod Nano case review

Episode 54 we review the Pod Star iPod nano case. The Podstar cases from Boomwave products offer an edgy case for rockers and devil worshipers. Well maybe other would be interested also, but one thing is for sure. They have created a cool looking series of cases. They are available in 4 designs, each available in a black or red version.  Each design features a set of horns and a devilish tail on the back of the case. Episode 53 - Pacific Design iPod nano case review

Episode 53 we review the Pacific Design iPod nano case. These cases are fun leather like cases designed for users that like colors. Available is 4 two tone color combinations. The cases are made from soft polyurethane that looks and feels like real leather. The case is a flip front style case that uses a magnetic closure. I like this case because they were pretty thin for this type of case, some leather cases can add bulk to the iPod when using. There is a belt clip on the case that snaps into place and is made from the same material. The clip design was different because they did not use the typical bulky plastic clip that many other cases use. Pacific Design creates cases for other iPod models, laptops, PSP and PDA’s.

Episode 49 - XtremeMac Microshield iPod nano review

Episode 49 we review the MicroShield iPod nano case from Xtrememac. The Microshield is a two piece hard plastic case that protects the Nano and still allows easy access to all ports. The top and bottom of the case are fully open to allow full use of all ports. The case attachs to the Nano by each piece clipping to the front and back of the iPod. The back part has the belt clip attached and can be flipped to allow the Nano to face upwards or downwards while on the clip. The clickwheel is open and the screen is protected by the plastic case. This plastic cases offers great protection from a crystal clear almost armor like shell.

Episode 48 - XtremeMac Microblas iPod nano portable speakers review

Episode 48 we review the Microblas iPod nano speakers from Xtrememac. The Microblast is an ultra portable iPod speaker system. It would be the mini version of the 80's boom box, but better sound in a way smaller package. That’s just what the Microblast delivers on, is a very small package. I was surprised after using many other portable speakers, just how small this unit was. Also to my delight was the good sound it produced. The Microblast in my opinion is a great solution for travelers or users who want an iPod speakers system but just don't have the room to carry a larger package. This unit is well designed with a clear front cover that doubles as the desk stand. The Microblast will run on 4 AA batteries or the included power adapter. The system does no have a subwoofer but does a good job a putting out good clean sound.  The Micro blast also is a great looking speaker system. I would recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a small well designed system.

Episode 47 - Mophie Relo & Relo2 iPod nano case review

mophie relo caseEpisode 47 we review the Relo and Relo2 case system from Mophie. The relo case series is innovative live of cases with built in accessories that work with a base case as the switchable component. There will be options that include wireless remotes, FM transmitters, batteries and other items. The relo2 is an add on piece to the base case that offers a headphone splitter. It provides additional protection to the base case and offers two gold plated headphone ports. If you have a case you like and all you want is a headphone splitter than the relo2 is probably two pricey for what you need. But if you want a nice case with the option to have a splitter built in than the Relo system is a nice option. I am really looking forward to being able to test the other case systems when they are released. You also have the option of mixing up the colors between the relo and relo2 cases when ordering. This can give you a truly personal look to your iPod protection.

Episode 45 - iJet wireless remote for iPod Nano Review

Episode 45 we review the iJet iPod Nano wireless remote control in this video segment. This iJet builds on the successful technology of the preivous model. The remote is still RF based which offers a range of 100'. I like the RF remotes more than IR or Infared remotes since they require line of site for use and offer a much short range of use. The iJet nano is a cradle style devices that houses and protects the Nano while providing the remote option. The case part covers the screen and leaves the click wheel open. There is a docking port pass-thru connection which I like. This will allow you to still use other accessories and cables while using the remote. You may use it in the car with a charger/FM transmitter combo cable and still get the remote access that you want. There are versions of this case available in Black and White. A similar model will become available soon that will also encompass a FM transmitter in the same device. This will combine two very popular accessories into one item.

Episode 41 - Otterbox iPod nano waterproof hard case review

otterbox nano caseEpisode 41 we review the Otterbox iPod nano waterproof case. In case you have never heard of Otterbox before, they produce tough waterproof cases. These cases are available for many items like iPod, laptops, cigars and other gadgets. The cases are made from tough shatter proof plastic and is waterproof down to 3 feet. This makes for an excellent case for swimmers, fisherman or anybody that is around dust and water. I use mine when working in the wood shop, out in the yard and fishing. These activities are prone to dust and moisture. When my iPod is in the Otterbox I have no worries. The case has proved to be a tough and protective solution. I have buried it in dirt, used in water and even drug it on a brick walkway. The case barely shows any wear and tear.
